Bernice Halpern Cutler (aka Leezy Hightower), an Adjunct Professor of Photography and Photoshop at Nassau Community College and C.W.Post College, is an internationally exhibited photographer whose works have been favorably reviewed by the New York Times, Newsday, and other newspapers and magazines.
She is well known for her interest in pinhole photography, historic processes, the manipulated print and now, digital imaging. Her work in albumen printing was thoroughly documented (with portfolio) in an extensive article in "Darkroom Photography" magazine. Ms. Cutler has participated in invitational workshops, lectures and has written numerous articles on photography.
Her photographs are in the collections of Graham Nash (of Nash Editions), New York Life Insurance Company, New York Telephone Company, Israel Museum, Fine Arts Museum of Long Island and numerous additional public and private collections.
Mrs. Cutler holds a Master of Arts in Photography and in Sculpture from C.W. Post College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Hofstra University.
